Beta Testers
First off, thank you. Since this site is being built by a single developer, all the bugs cannot and will not be found by him. That's where you come in. Let me know of anything you find that doesn't work as you would expect it to. You can report bugs on the bug report page. If you'd like to make a suggestion on how to make this site better, drop me a line on the suggestions page.
The site is lacking a lot of polish right now...that will be changing soon, so don't be alarmed if things change from day to day. The majority of the time I spent developing this site was dedicated to doing the back-end database programming. It didn't help that I had never used php before either, but I picked it up pretty quick.
At this point in time, the site is very basically functional. It is still missing a few features (like printing a shopping list) and printer-friendly views. These features will be picked up as part of the polishing process. Also, take a quick look at the known issues page to see what I've identified as broken or bad thus far.
Again, I'd just like to say thank you and apologize for the wait. When I decided to build this website, I also used it as an opportunity to build a proprietary php website framework, so I had to build all the code for everything from scratch.

New Features/Bug Fixes (02/11/2007):
More new stuff to test out:
- Enhanced date detection and management. Details:
- When adding meals, the meal date must be from the start date to the ending date, inclusive
- Messaging system overhaul
- I did a lot to get rid of the stupid looking red text messages. You should notice red, green, blue, or yellow boxes with icons and matching colored text now.
- Let me know via the bug report page if you think there should be a message for some action and there isn't
- Once you have logged in, for any trips that you have scheduled in the current month, the days will be blue. If you click the number of the day, it will take you to the trip summary page for that particular trip.
New Features/Bug Fixes (02/08/2007):
Made a lot of progress based on feedback I've been
receiving. Here's new stuff to test out:
- Added capability to add a waypoint to the map from an address.
- Added a multi-select box to the gear and clothing list edit pages to be able to add common
items quickly
- Please email me or submit a bug report/feature request if you notice that I've
left something off one of the lists.
- Enhanced date detection and management. Details:
- When creating a trip, the ending date must be after the starting date
- More administration tools for me :-)
- Added the ability to edit the preparation instructions for meals
- Added capability to edit existing clothing/gear items
- Currently working on getting the calendar on the main page to show any trips that you have scheduled after you have logged in and providing a link to the trip summary page by clicking on the number for the day of the trip.

I'm going to keep a running list of the features that have been requested so I'll always have
something to work on. Here's what I've got so far:
- Input focus on login fields...make the tabstops work in a logical order
- add text to the effect that waypoints need to have all 3 fields filled out
- add text to the effect that ingredients need to have all fields filled out
- add ability to edit existing waypoints
- add ability to edit existing ingredients
- add a time modified field to the meals table
- based on the time modified field on the meals table, add the last 10 or so meals to a box on the home page.
- let users add the meals to one of their trips
- Decide how to handle overlapping trips
- Maybe add a vehicle gear list?? If you like this idea, send it to me as a feature request
- Add a links/sponsors page or something?
- Change the return page after you add clothing/gear to go back to the edit page instead of the trip summary page
